Could every smart phone owner have telecare in their pocket?
iPhone app can send phone into "Mobile emergency attack and failsafe detection" mode. The system uses a smartphone's sensors to detect a potential emergency situation such as the owner being attacked or in a car accident. The system automatically requests help via a call or another method of communication. The system generates an emergency call list, or the user can do this manually. The
SMART COPD project - brand new video
The SMART (Self Management supported by Assistive Rehabilitation and Telehealth Technologies) consortium develops technologies to help people to self-manage their long term conditions. The film below shows SMART researchers working with patients, family members, clinicians and healthcare professionals to design a mobile based technology to help Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) patients

The ScHARR Student e-Journal
The ScHARR Student e-Journal is a new online departmental peer-reviewed journal where Masters and PhD students studying at ScHARR can publish their work. Published articles will include academic style papers, posters and abstracts as well as informative reflective pieces and podcasts about experiences of being a research student.   We encourage all students to publish their findings in peer review
